As the sons of *Cuban* political exiles who escaped an oppressive regime, freedom of information and speech are fundamental human rights that we feel a strong conviction towards preserving. Yet, in too many corners of the world—even our own—access to information is controlled, opinions are manipulated, and truth is twisted beyond recognition. Regardless of the ‘*ism*’ at the end of the ideology, absolute power has proven to corrupt absolutely.&#x20;

Imagine a sanctuary where the written word is non-tamperable and access to it is unalienable—a bulwark against State censorship. Welcome to ***The Athenaeum***: an online haven that may serve as a repository of critical works, research, and articles inscribed on the blockchain. Nestled within one of **Battle Bones**’ Bitmaps, this project seeks to emulate the audacious spirit of *Minecraft’s* ***Uncensored Library***.&#x20;

Here, we see the potential for widespread positive global impact—a chance to empower authors and independent journalists operating in areas of repressive media control. Our personal onus is to ensure that what gets archived is enlightening, informs, and uplifts our brothers and sisters. We’re here to empower the next generation to stand up, speak out, and fight for their right to information.&#x20;
